If you were at White Rock Lake a week ago, you may have spotted what you thought was a mermaid, but it was just Reagan rocking out her Senior Portraits in Dallas. She kicked off her shoes, put on a beautiful vintage dress, and jumped in!
Before all of this excitement, we started her session with world-class makeup and hairstyling in our photography studio in Dallas.
I absolutely love how ethereal and glamorous she looks in these beautiful studio portraits!
This beautiful warm-gray backdrop was hand-painted for me by Sarah Oliphant, from Oliphant Studios in NYC. Sarah paints these beautiful canvas backdrops for photographers all over the world, including Annie Leibowitz and Sue Bryce!
To mix things up a little bit, we simply stepped in the back room of the studio, where the AC units are, and embraced the rough, vintage look of the cinderblock and vent fan.
Our next stop was downtown Dallas, near her high school, Booker T. Washington. I love how the sun flares into my lens like above, giving it a warm, washed out feeling.
Senior Portraits are about self-expression and should be something truly unique to you. If you're needing a Dallas Senior Photographer, I would absolutely love to hear about how you dream of being photographed so we can create a custom experience, catered around you. <![CDATA[Senior Portraits in Dallas at Night]]>Thu, 24 Mar 2016 05:00:00 GMThttp://dallas-senior-portraits.com/blog/senior-portraits-in-dallas-at-nightBaylee visited from New York to have her Senior Portraits taken in Dallas at night.
She is part of a cheerleading team, Perfection, so we got these shots in her uniform.
I love the "bokeh" (photographer-lingo for the blurry background) that is created when something like car headlights and streetlights in the frame.
These last two shots were taken with all-natural light, which isn't too common for me at night. This area was just so perfectly lit it worked out great!
Baylee has since been in a Victoria's Secret promo ad, and is still cheering for Perfection! Interested in getting your Senior Portraits taken in Dallas? Click the button below to get in touch.

<![CDATA[Alexa's Spring Session at the Dallas Arboretum]]>Mon, 29 Feb 2016 06:00:00 GMThttp://dallas-senior-portraits.com/blog/alexas-spring-session-at-the-dallas-arboretum
Alexa traveled from Arizona to have her Senior Portraits taken in Dallas. The Dallas Arboretum boasts everything from colorful flowers and vintage bridges, to winding pathways and a lakeside view.
Alexa also wanted to capture a little of the city, so we headed to downtown Dallas to get some photos near Klyde Warren Park.
I love when the sun sets, because the city lights all turn on which gives us an entirely different look. This was such a fun way to end a really great evening!

<![CDATA[Peyton's Senior Portraits in Dallas]]>Wed, 19 Aug 2015 20:52:57 GMThttp://dallas-senior-portraits.com/blog/peytons-senior-portraits-in-dallasFor Peyton's Senior Portraits she wanted a mix of downtown charm with a more natural setting, so we began at The American Beauty Mill in the south side of Dallas. It's such a neat location, full of rusty metal, peeling paint, and a lot of antique character.
I love a good burst of wind for some hair action, but it took myself + 2 assistants holding down the light to get this rooftop shot with Dallas in the background. Next, we headed to White Rock Lake to catch the sunset.
This one of my favorite parts of the shoot. Peyton's wearing her Cheer Athletics Cheetah's uniform, and we put her in a reflection pool in downtown Dallas. I LOVE the mirror image coming up from the water. Then we decided to add some blue smoke bombs for even more fun!
Peyton is a World Champion in Allstar Cheerleading, so we wanted to capture her success. She did such a great job during her shoot! If you're interested in working with me and shooting your Senior Portraits in Dallas, please click here to email me and I will be in touch soon!

<![CDATA[Senior Portraits at The Dallas Arboretum with Corey]]>Wed, 01 Jul 2015 21:02:59 GMThttp://dallas-senior-portraits.com/blog/senior-portraits-at-the-dallas-arboretum-with-corey
The Arboretum is one of my favorite places to take Senior Portraits in Dallas! Despite the Texas heat, they somehow still maintain a beautiful garden all season.
Shooting her photos in the morning made for a lot more comfortable temperatures and softer light. If The Dallas Arboretum was open earlier than 9am, we would have been there at the break of sunrise. Another perk of this location is that in some areas they have really great foggers that cool the air, which is wonderful in this Texas heat!
I cover entry fees into the gardens and parking. Your hair and makeup is going to be all-day beautiful, so whether you stay in the gardens and explore or you hit The Galleria, get out and take advantage of your makeover!

<![CDATA[Morgan's Senior Portraits in Dallas]]>Wed, 10 Jun 2015 05:00:00 GMThttp://dallas-senior-portraits.com/blog/morgans-senior-portraits-in-dallas
Morgan's Senior Portrait session started on top of the big levy, near the Trinity River and Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge.
We stopped by a nearby warehouse that was covered in graffiti- such a cool vibe and so much patina!
We finished shooting in downtown Dallas right after sunset, which was perfect to show off the city lights and evening sky. Morgan is a "Panther" at Cheer Athletics, so she wanted to finish with some portrait of her in her cheer uniform.

<![CDATA[Twins' Senior Portraits in Dallas, TX]]>Thu, 14 May 2015 21:17:20 GMThttp://dallas-senior-portraits.com/blog/twins-senior-portraits-in-dallas-txGrace and Esther, while not identical, are indeed twins. These two are something special. You can tell that they have a cosmic relationship, plus they're both so beautiful!
We started out in downtown Dallas, catching the urban side of the city. Graffiti, coffee shops, and random alleyways made up the first portion of the shoot.
They both wanted their own individual Senior Portraits, but also wanted photos together as sisters.
This last location was special to them because it's the graveyard where their grandfather is buried. I love helping make each session special and unique, and would love to talk with you about your Senior Portraits! Please e-mail me for a fast response.

<![CDATA[Senior Portraits in Dallas with Haley From Missouri]]>Wed, 08 Apr 2015 02:29:32 GMThttp://dallas-senior-portraits.com/blog/haleys-senior-portraits-in-west-dallas
HOLY BEAUTIFUL! I seriously feel like the luckiest person in the world. I get to shoot such amazing high school seniors, like Haley from Ozark, Missouri.

I was thrilled that she chose to come see me in Dallas to have me shoot her Senior Pictures!
She wanted a mix of different locations, so we went to two main areas. Prairie Creek Park is one of the little gems that not a lot of people know about, and is great for natural outdoor Senior Pictures.
Our second location was in downtown Dallas, giving her a chance to take advantage of the city's unique urban appeal.

Haley did so great choosing her outfits! Just like we suggest in our Seniors Style Guide (included free with your Senior Portraits), she brought a lot of fun accessories that really helped create some powerful photos. Something as simple as a statement necklace can turn an outfit from OK to over the top!

<![CDATA[Dallas Senior Portraits With Meghan]]>Wed, 04 Mar 2015 22:46:30 GMThttp://dallas-senior-portraits.com/blog/dallas-senior-portraits-with-meghan
Meghan had a She used our Seniors Style Guide, a free magazine we've created to help you prepare, and her Senior Portraits turned out so great!
One of my favorite ways to schedule a Senior Portrait session is to start shooting about an hour before sunset, shoot through sunset, and finish at night. It makes for such a well-rounded session with a lot of variety. I use a "shallow depth of field", which is photographer lingo for I like making the background blurry. This effect is the best at night, when the city lights blur into abstract designs.
If you'd like to talk about your Senior Portraits in Dallas, please feel email me for a fast response. I would love to chat!
